Historic Preservation

Maple Hill Chapter, NSDAR, has participated in an array of projects to help preserve our cultural heritage including:

Cleaning grave markers at historic cemeteries
Locating, restoring, and marking American Revolutionary War Patriot grave sites and headstones
Transcribing and indexing historical records for inclusion in the NSDAR online American Revolutionary War records database
Supporting the development of an online database of American Revolutionary War Patriots who had an association with the state of Alabama

Contributing to the placement of markers to memorialize events in American history including the America 250 memorial at the America Village in Montevallo, Alabama
